The Google AdSense of Content
Are you a blog publisher?
Recommend articles to your readers related to what they read in your blog from the sources YOU trust
2or3things, the owner and designer of Blastfeed, is pleased to announce the release of rollSense, a new content recommendation service, for blog publishers and their readers.
rollSense automatically recommends content to blog readers related to what they read. rollSense comes as a widget to paste on blogs. As soon as readers go through one post, rollSense automatically proposes related posts drawn from a set of content sources selected by the blog publisher.
From a technical standpoint rollSense works with RSS feeds and some semantics algorithms to generate recommendations.
How does it work?
- 1. Related posts are only drawn from content sources blog publishers decide to tap into. For instance, blog publishers may want to use their blogroll or a list of blogs they particularly appreciate. Hence, controlled sources ensure authority and reinforce trust.
- 2. Easy to configure, rollSense can be fully customized to match any blog look and feel.
The rollSense widget is always viewable, readers do not have any action to do besides reading through and clicking on the link they find interesting.
What can blog publishers expect from rollSense?
1. Enhance their readers experience by providing them with targeted, related content allowing them to dig further into what they are interested.
2. Increase their traffic as soon as they get cross referenced by other rollSense installed throughout their blog network or community.
3. In that regard, when rollSense is used in blogs belonging to the same network, rollSense can be a great service to direct readers to other internal blogs, thus maximising the reader’s presence within the network.
4. rollSense delivers targeted content. rollSense will propose at a later stage a program in which a few sponsored links will be inserted along with the content recommendations. Blog publishers will be incented and get a share of the revenues generated.
We have set up a couple of test blogs to demo rollSense. One of them is fed with a Techcrunch feed (this is done with another application we have, PushtomyBlog, which allows for mixing and filtering feeds before pushing them either to a blog or web page or to your email, IM, SMS, RSS). We have configured rollSense for tapping into a 100+ techno blogs. Whenever you read a full post by clicking on its title, rollSense is updated with related links. Likewise, we have a demo blog based on celebrities and people related information.
