How does Tapefailure work?
We have strived to make Tapefailure as simple to use as possible. You simply sign up for an account, which takes only a couple minutes, and then create a unique identifier for each website you wish to track. After that, you just drop in a small piece of Javascript into each page you would like to track, and from there Tapefailure handles everything else. Tapefailure tracks your users and records both tapes of your users’ browsing and statistics about the users’ browsing session. All you have to do is log into your account and from there you have the ability to view the recorded tapes and statistics.
Will Tapefailure slow down my site or affect my users?
No, the Tapefailure recording script is a small 4kb file that, once downloaded by the user a first time, resides in the cache. This way, the file is only downloaded once for each visitor and it uses our bandwidth, not yours.

Does Tapefailure intrude upon my user’s privacy?
Tapefailure only records what occurs on your website; it records nothing outside the browser window or on other websites. It also does not record cookies, internet history, or anything outside your website.
What does Tapefailure do differently from other analytics software?
Tapefailure does not collect basic data that other analytics software (such as Google Analytics) gathers. Instead, it focuses on what the user does, not who the user is or what they use.
Which browsers and OSes are supported by Tapefailure?
In terms of browsers, Tapefailure has been successfully tested on all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Safari. Tapefailure has been tested on Windows, Mac, and most distributions of Linux.

- 1. Visitor Limit is based on the number of recorded tapes. A ratio may be set to record 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, or 1/10 of your visitors, so buy your plan accordingly.
- 2. Tracker Identifiers allow you to split up your tapes by labeling them differently. You may use a tracker identifier for single pages, whole sites, or a group of pages.
- 3. Mobthly Cost Plans come in 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 month packages. There is an incremental 5% discount for larger plans ordered (e.g.: 3 months has a 5% discount, 9 months has a 15% discount).
