Summize is a new type of search engine that crawls and analyzes user reviews, and presents the results as convenient visual summaries we call "snips."
How does Summize save me time shopping?
If you’re interested in finding out what people think of a product, manufacturer, music group, CD, DVD, etc. you can search for it here and see whether users who reviewed that topic thought it was wretched or great or anywhere in between. Through our Ajax-powered hover-and-click features, you’re able to drill down directly to the most helpful reviews, as well as to an online merchant where you can purchase the product.
Summize is a small, tight-knit group of scientists, search engineers, avid online shoppers, and eccentrics. Unsatisfied with the current crop of online shopping sites, we decided to create "a better way" to search and shop.
Rather than build yet another price comparison shopping site - which are great once you know what to buy - we’ve taken a reviews-first approach: we crawl the web for product reviews, aggregate those reviews, select the most helpful of reviews, and then take it one step further: we summarize the reviews.
