How Does SubmitEaze Work?

The two most time-consuming aspects of submitting your website to web directories is firstly collating a list of quality web directories to submit to, and then actually typing your website details for every directory you submit to. If you’ve ever tried to submit your website to a lot of directories you’ll understand just how time consuming this can be, especially if you operate more than one website!

SubmitEaze solves all of these problems by providing you with a massive list of quality web directories and also listing the Google PageRank and Incoming Backlink count for every directory. You can then work through the list, and using the built-in ’Auto-Fill’ function it is possible to enter your site details with the click of a button, without the need to re-type your details for every directory you submit to - which makes the submission process incredibly quick.

Which directories does SubmitEaze list?

New Features on SubmitEaze version 4.0

In no particular order, here is a list of all of the fantastic new features added for Version 4.0:

 "Project Briefcase" - import / export project settings - The new Project Briefcase feature lets you import and export entire projects, including the project settings, directory submission statuses, auto-fill settings, directory ratings, and directory notes.

There are a number of situations where this may be useful a) you can backup your data in the event of buying a new computer and need to transfer settings, b) if you use SubmitEaze on more than one computer (you might have SubmitEaze installed on a laptop and a desktop PC and want to switch between the two), or c) you work in an office and collaborate on different projects with other colleagues.

 Directory Detective Updates - For those who aren’t aware, Directory Detective is a ground-breaking tool which enables you to find links to your website from directories you’ve submitted to. Not only will it find links, but it will also extract the anchor text of the link, and also the Google PageRank of the webpage where the link was found, enabling you to build a complete picture of every link that point to your site from directories - pretty powerful stuff!

We received some fantastic feedback on this new ground-breaking tool, and we had some great more importantly, we had some suggestions on how we could make it even better:

• We have now added a second search method ’Search Backlinks’. If you select this option it will obtain a list of all of the links that point to your website and search for links from web directories. This option is faster than selecting the deep crawl setting, but relies on the directory page that contains your link being indexed in the search engine.

• The Deep Crawl search method now enables you to enter the number of active threads (1-500). People who who have fast PCs and fast Internet connections can set the number of threads higher which will result in faster crawling - it can crawl over 2,000 pages per minute on fast broadband connections. But because some directories are incredibly large and may take hours to crawl, we’ve also added two time-out options so you can skip to the next directory if

• a) certain number of pages have been crawled, or
• b) a certain time period has passed.

 Alexa Traffic Rank for listed directories - In addition to Google PageRank and Incoming Backlink Count, you can now order the directory lists using Alexa Traffic Rank. Alexa Rank can be used to give an indication of how much traffic a particular directory is getting - the more traffic a directory gets, the more you might possibly get! You can also update the Alexa traffic rank for your custom directories.

 Change the ratings to Poor / Good / Average / Brilliant - Users can currently give directories a numeric rating between 1-10, which was perhaps a little overzealous on our part. This has now been simplified so you can just give rankings of Poor, Good, Average, or Brilliant.

 Color-code directory names depending on the rating - When you rate a directory the directory name field is now color-coded according to the rating you give it. This means that at a glance you can see which are your favorite directoriesm aking submitting that little bit easier.

 Rename custom directory category names - So you want to correct that typo in your custom category names - now you can!

 New ’Try Later’ status - You can now set four different statuses: submitted, verified, skipped, and try later.

 "Find Duplicate Directories" tool - Having duplicates in you directory lists means you might be doing more work than you need to, and consequently you may be submitting to the same directory more than once (which directory operators hate as it means more work for them as well). Now we give you the ability to easily find out if you’ve got any duplicates in your listings! The new ’Find Duplicates’ tool will display any duplicate directories and the category they are found in, so you can seek ’em out and delete them as you see fit.

 Bigger Project Maintenance Screen - We’ve made the project maintenance screen bigger, so that new 98" monitor you’ve bought is being used to full effect!

Features on SubmitEaze version 3.0

In no particular order, here is a list of all of the fantastic features added for Version 3.0:

 ’Directory Detective’ feature added - We’ve created a totally new tool called ‘Directory Detective’. Directory Detective is an immensely powerful tool which will crawl all of the pages in a directory or a list of directories to find links to your website, so you know precisely which directories have listed your website and which you should re-submit to. Not only will it find the URL, but it will also extract the anchor text and find the Google PageRank - meaning you can build a complete picture of all of the links that point to your website from directories. Sounds good? Well, that’s not all; Directory Detective also has a “Check Links” option so it will check the directories are still linking to your website, and you can even export the data to give to clients as a report or keep for your own records.

 Full customization of the Auto-fill feature - We’ve opened-up access to the auto-fill feature so you now have 100% control over how the auto-fill feature works in SubmitEaze. Not only do you have control over the default fields, (e.g. The URL or Title fields) but you can also add your own custom fields, so SubmitEaze can be used to fill ANY kind of form.

 Auto-fill will now select your website category - The auto-fill feature has been enhanced so it will now attempt to automatically select your website category from the category dropdown field on submission forms - this is a massive time-saver and can easily half the time it currently takes to fill submission forms.

 Open in external browser - We’ve added an extra button to the browser bar which will open the currently viewed website in your default system browser.

 Prevent duplicates when adding custom directories - A new setting has been added to the directory list import tool: "Prevent Duplicates", which will check whether any of the directories are already included in the standard SubmitEaze directory listings, or your custom directory lists. If a duplicate is found you have the option of whether to add that particular directory or skip it.

 Take a screenshot of the currently viewed webpage - You can now take a screenshot of the currently viewed page. This is useful if you need to provide proof to a client that you have completed the directory submissions. The screenshot doesn’t show that you’ve used SubmitEaze for the submission, so your secret is safe.

 Export your custom directories - You can now export your custom directory lists in CSV format so that you can share your directory lists with your friends or colleagues.

 Javascript popups disabled - We have disabled JavaScript pop-ups from appearing (not a huge change, but they were annoying some users)

 Vista Compliant - Version 3 is 100% Windows Vista compliant.
