The Challenge Confronting

Even with the latest anti-spam technology and proposed standards, ISPs and MSPs are still challenged by the problem of misclassified mail. The combination of blacklists and spam filters that most ISPs currently employ presents risks and costly tradeoffs which lead to "false positives." As a result, legitimate mail is being either dropped or misclassified as spam and lost in "bulk" folders. This puts ISPs and MSPs at risk for not delivering critical or highly desired email.

Habeas Certified Mail and SafeList

Habeas’ certification process is the most rigorous in the industry. Only those customers who are engaging in the very best emailing practices are certified.

The Habeas SafeList is a fast-growing list of legitimate mailers that meet Habeas’ strict compliance standards. Qualifying senders are added to the Habeas SafeList based on a comprehensive Audit Process and only when their practices meet widely adopted industry standards.

Using the Habeas SafeList

Receivers can access the Habeas SafeList services in a number of ways. The SafeList can be checked at Habeas hosted DNS servers or cached locally by the receiver with a zone transfer. Receivers have the option to check every email against the Habeas SafeList or only make checks for those emails that purport to be Habeas Certified (via Habeas MailTag bounce address or Habeas x-header). In addition, receivers may choose to access our coded DNS response SafeList to utilize the sender’s opt-in permission level, content type, accreditation level and feedback score for use in making mail handling determination decisions at the edge of the network.
