What is FeedMiner? We’re a search engine specifically designed for finding RSS and Atom feeds fast and accurately. There are many ways to read feeds, but very few to find them efficiently.
What are feeds? RSS feeds are commonly used by blogs and other web sites to share their most recent headlines, summaries, or full text, without having to visit the web site itself. To use RSS feeds, you either download a feed reader or use one of the web-based readers such as My Yahoo or Bloglines. Major news sites also publish RSS feeds and include USAToday, CNN, Washington Post, and the New York Times. If you look for RSS feeds, you will see them everywhere.
Why do you need FeedMiner? Because it’s very time consuming to search blogs, news sites, and other web sites for feeds of interest. Once you find a topic that is particularly interesting to you, you have to follow numerous links to a variety of sites. Once there, you search all over the home page to find the feed (if you can). And guess what? Every site labels feeds differently. This is especially frustrating for new users of RSS feeds.
FeedMiner is a feed only search engine. Type in your search terms, just like you would in any other search engine. Your search results are displayed as a list of relevant feeds for you to view in FeedMiner or in your favorite feed reader. Other search engines will let you find web pages. But FeedMiner is only feeds. RSS, Atom, RDF... we have them all.
