What is BlinkBits?
Imagine the collective wisdom of ALL mankind on EVERY topic available in the Blink of an Eye... That’s what I’m trying to build - with your help!
BlinkBits allows anyone to share info from anywhere, discover the info from anywhere and then distribute the info to anywhere.
Technically, I’ve developed a system to combine a distributed network of billions of information sources with a distributed network of hundreds of thousands of people (hopefully this will grow to be Billions too) who can interact with and add to this information. My belief is that the combination of the two networks will create WISDOM which in my mind is superior than anything that exists today.
That’s a little tough to digest so in simpler terms, BlinkBitsallows anyone to:
- Start a Blink on a topic which pulls info from a list of suggested feeds,
- Add additional feeds to the topic,
- Share their own information on the topic,
- Discover information from feeds and visitors on the topic, and
- Edit and delete any information (from feeds or visitors)
- Share & Discover from anywhere with tools like our Google Toolbar Buttons, BlinkBits Bookmarklets, RSS Feeds & more
Note: All the feeds are for the use of visitors who set up the Blink and then their visitors who view their Blink. All feeds also require attribution back to the source plus must comply with any rules established by the publisher of the feed. BlinkBits tries hard to make sure all feeds added are in compliance with all the rules. Please contact BlinkBits if your feed(s) have been added and you would like them to be deleted. BlinkBits don’t mean any harm to anyone (actually the opposite) so BlinkBits will modify it, remove it or do whatever you like.
What is a Blink?
BlinkBits is the place where people Start Blinks on topics that are of interest to them in order to:
- Discover hard to find information continuously updated content from BILLIONS of sources.
- Save time by getting News, Pics, Videos and more - ALL in 1 PLACE
- Express their views by openly adding, editing and discussing their Blink topic.
- Meet People Interested in their Blink topic.
- Become the Recognized Authority on their Blink topic.
- Share and syndicate their Blink.
- Do all the above to everyone elses Blink too.
You can Search Existing Blinks already created by others or if you don’t see a Blink on the topic you are looking for you can Start Your Own Blink.
So what does my software do:
1. When you start a Blink my software sets up your Blink with deep, automated, continuously updated content from Billions of sources - ALL in 1 PLACE.
- Headlines and blog^ posts from tens of thousands of news sources and blogs.
- Pictures and Videos from millions of websites & online photo albums.
- Top Search Results from Billions of web pages across the web.
- Bookmarks related to your subject from millions of surfers.
- ALL Continously Updated.
2. I enable you to control the content.
- Edit and delete the automated feeds.
- Add your own feeds.
- Post additional information.
- Edit and even delete all other bits.
3. I enable you to connect with people interested in your Blink.
- Obtain visitor comments
- Moderate a discussion
4. I provide the tools to allow you to share with others - be recognized as the authority on this topic
- Publish an RSS Feed so anyone can get all this info right on their desktop
- Display your content on any website via RSS
- Get automatically listed in our Blink directory
- Automatic Pinging to 14 sites everytime a Bit is added to your Blink
- Automatically submitted to Google and Yahoo sitemaps plus all of the top RSS Feed Engines
5. I allow you to do all of the above from any web site with our Google Toolbar Buttons and our BlinkBits Bookmarklets
- Save News, Pics, Urls and Your Notes from any website with the "Save to BlinkBits" Bookmarklet
- Discover Pics, News and Blinkers "Bits" while surfing any website with the "Blink" Bookmarklet
- Get a RSS Feed with Pics, News and Blinkers "Bits" while surfing any website with the "Get RSS Feed" Bookmarklet
I also provide some other great tools but we won’t mention them here so you’ll be surprised when you find them.
So in summary, a Blink is an open-content collaboration where you pick a topic, we continously go out and get info on this topic for you, allow you and anyone else to easily add more content to it and then provide the tools for you and anyone else to control the topic content, discuss it and share it.
